All I Have to Give, 2003-4 Hand sewn lace roses, MDF, fragrance Part 1 (London): Several hand-sewn lace roses made during times of emptiness and travel are presented in a room filled with artificial floral fragrance. The roses' arrangement mimic the shape of a hinged wooden heart that is leaned up against the wall. Written on the back is a love note to viewers encouraging them to accept a rose as a gift from the artist. Part 2 (Chicago): Remaining roses are all given away during the opening reception of a group exhibition entitled, Summer Love. |
